Responsibilities

Under close and frequent supervision, assists experienced engineers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.

  • Entry level for professional work. Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multi-family developments, and public works projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of calculations, such as storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation for public and private projects.
  • Performs plan drafting using CADD software.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Possess EIT certification, or have the ability to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within six months of hire.

Job Description

Our Water Resources Department focuses on providing timely, cost effective solutions to our client’s water and sewer needs. We are a small but growing department with opportunity for advancement. Our primary service area is the northern half of Georgia.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the challenges associated with providing adequate water distribution and sewer collection service to our client’s customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a collaborative team member with a project manager and other engineers.
  • Produce reports, studies, specifications and construction documents.
  • Have a working knowledge of Autocad and Civil 3D.
  • Develop a knowledge of different project types through continued work experience.
  • Participate in business development efforts such as networking in industry organizations, i.e.: GAWP, GRWA, ASCE, AWWA, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 2-3 years of design experience
  • Proficient in Autocad and Civil 3D
  • Ability to obtain PE license

  • Be responsible for daily crew operations
  • Working knowledge of boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, utility surveys, ALTA surveys, etc.
  • Coordinate with client representatives in the field as necessary
  • Provide survey calculations as necessary to support field work
  • Conduct daily and survey safety meetings
  • Be able to generate start to finish CADD drawings using Civil 3D v. 18

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience
  • LSIT certification or LSIT/RLS candidate
  • Proficient with a variety of survey equipment
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering plans
  • Good communication skills with internal and external clients

  • Be responsible for daily crew operations
  • Working knowledge of boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, utility surveys, etc
  • Coordinate with client representatives in the field as necessary
  • Provide survey calculations as necessary to support field work
  • Conduct daily and survey safety meetings

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ immediate past experience as a survey party chief
  • Proficient with a variety of survey equipment
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering plans

Responsibilities

  • Must understand deed interpretation, principles of boundary surveys, and construction staking
  • Research land records at the County Recorder’s, Assessor’s, and Surveyor’s offices, including researching the Bureau of Land Management records
  • Calculate and plot section corners, property corners, and rights-of-way
  • Prepare Records of Surveys, Right of Way plans, Exhibits, and various mapping products using CADD with help from Survey Supervisor
  • Coordinate with clients, various agencies, and other departments
  • Prepare correspondence and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Field site visit, surveying, and inspection will be required.

Education

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with Survey coursework, CADD training, LSIT preferred by not required

Experience

Field experience preferred with both office and field duties.

Salary

Salary commensurate with experience and education.
