Job Description

Our Water Resources Department focuses on providing timely, cost effective solutions to our client’s water and sewer needs. We are a small but growing department with opportunity for advancement. Our primary service area is the northern half of Georgia.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the challenges associated with providing adequate water distribution and sewer collection service to our client’s customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a collaborative team member with a project manager and other engineers.
  • Produce reports, studies, specifications and construction documents.
  • Have a working knowledge of Autocad and Civil 3D.
  • Develop a knowledge of different project types through continued work experience.
  • Participate in business development efforts such as networking in industry organizations, i.e.: GAWP, GRWA, ASCE, AWWA, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 2-3 years of design experience
  • Proficient in Autocad and Civil 3D
  • Ability to obtain PE license

  • Meet with clients to discuss needs, conceptualize solutions and review completed work.
  • Develop an overall understanding of client’s long-term goals.
  • Participate in business development efforts such as networking in industry organizations, i.e.: GAWP, GRWA, ASCE, AWWA, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of design experience
  • Proficient in Autocad and Civil 3D
  • PE license or ability to obtain soon preferred

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the challenges associated with providing quality field surveying services to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of a 2 or 3-man survey crew performing a variety of roles
  • Work as an instrument operator providing boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, utility surveys, etc.
  • Train rod men as necessary
  • Coordinate with client representatives in the field as necessary
  • Participate in company mandated safety programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of surveying experience
  • Minimum of 1 years’ immediate past experience as a survey party chief
  • Proficient with a variety of survey equipment

  • Plan, organize and participate in the work of a survey crew performing a wide variety of construction and preliminary design surveys
  • Be responsible for daily crew operations
  • Working knowledge of boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, utility surveys, etc
  • Coordinate with client representatives in the field as necessary
  • Provide survey calculations as necessary to support field work
  • Conduct daily and survey safety meetings

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ immediate past experience as a survey party chief
  • Proficient with a variety of survey equipment
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering plans

Reports to: Survey Supervisor

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to established company policies, follows all survey service line procedures, and assures that the crews follow standard procedures.
  • Prepares surveys utilizing Civil3D.
  • Communicates with the entire crew and office staff about all aspects of the project.
  • Available to perform field survey activities in accordance with standards set by state statutes and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping.
  • Makes timely requests for external equipment, procedural changes, new equipment purchase, and vehicle maintenance to the Survey Supervisor.
  • Co-ordinates with crews for use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes, and electronic data collection.
  • Participates in Survey Department and/or crew training.

Other Responsibilities to Assist Supervisor:

  • Assists to assure crew adheres to procedures in the safety manual and uses all personal safety equipment provided. Plans daily crew activities, considering possible multiple projects to meet productivity goals set by Project Managers.
  • Supervises crew-level vehicle and equipment inventory, loading, and maintenance.
  • Works without direct day-to-day supervision and makes technical and supervisory decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority. Supervises daily Data Collector downloading.
  • Prepares daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports, and field change orders.
  • Provides input to Project Manager, Survey Supervisor, and Group Leader for the formal performance evaluation of crew members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Minimum of high school diploma. Passed basic surveying classes at an approved community college or have equivalent experience. LSIT preferred but not required.

Experience: Minimum of five years experience working in a field crew as a Survey Technician I or equivalent.
